Who is Involved?

Neighbourhoods Green is led by Notting Hill Housing Trust and Peabody Trust, with Groundwork London managing elements of project delivery. As a partnership project we are actively exploring for members to join us, especially Registered Social Landlords and local authority housing departments. More details of the project's structure will be posted during the summer. Notting Hill Housing Trust

Notting Hill Housing Group is one of the country's leading housing associations managing nearly 19,000 homes in London, housing over 50,000 people and employing 750 staff. The Group also includes: Notting Hill Housing Trust, Notting Hill Home Ownership, Notting Hill Care Services, Notting Hill Commercial Properties and Notting Hill Housing Trust Shops.

Peabody Trust

Peabody Trust is one of London's largest and oldest housing associations, as well as being a charity and community regeneration agency. Founded by George Peabody, an American philanthropist, in 1862, the Peabody Trust Group now owns or manages over 19,000 properties across 30 London boroughs, housing nearly 50,000 people.

Groundwork London

Groundwork London is part of the national Groundwork organisation - an environmental regeneration charity working in areas of social deprivation and environmental degradation across the country. Working in partnership with local communities and with the private and public sectors, Groundwork London aims to enhance the quality of Londoners' lives by improving the environment, developing skills and community spirit, and helping to unlock economic potential.

English Nature

English Nature is the statutory body that champions the conservation and enhancement of the wildlife and natural features of England.

English Nature is to become part of Natural England – for people, places and nature – a new statutory body which will have a role in rural, urban and marine environments. Its general purpose will be to ensure that the natural environment is conserved, enhanced and managed for the benefit of present and future generations, thereby contributing to sustainable development.

Steering Group Members

The project leaders are supported by a small steering group comprising representatives from the social housing sector and various open space sector partners. The Group meets regularly to direct, oversee and manage the project's delivery.

In addition a number of experts or advisors have been invited to assist the Steering Group and the project's objectives. These include representatives from:

  • Children's Play Council/London Play
  • CABE Space
  • Green Space (London Parks & Green Spaces Forum)


In the future, other expertise may be sought from a range of organisations as required, including:
